Now this post may seem a little ad hoc given that Bank holiday weekend is over (darn it), but I only got back from my travels yesterday so before I packed all my beauty bits away I thought I’d quickly snap a picture and let you guys know what made the cut for my little trip ‘op North as I was rather chuffed with this particular makeup edit.
Given my long distance romance I’ve become a bit of a pro at packing, especially when it comes to makeup. I know not to bother with fussy lip colours, an array of blush shades or multiple base choices. So I kept it simple just packing a tinted moisturiser, concealer, bronzer, mascara, eyebrow shaper and lip product. The killer combo for me was the Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser in Bisque and NARS Laguna Bronzer – oh wow. I’ve never noticed it before but the two products just melt into each other to create the most perfectly glowy and bronzed base. Swoon. For concealer I went for the By Terry Touche Veloutee Concealer in 3, which well and truly has clicked it’s last dollop of product and desperately needs a repurchase. I kept my eyes simple with just a few lashings of L’Oreal Telescopic Waterproof Mascara – no change there then. I did take my MAC eyeshadow palette but only for the shade Espresso to run through my brows – I really need to pick it up in single form for a more travel friendly choice. For lips I’ve been loving the lipstick/lipbalm/in the shape of a lip pencil products that seem to be cropping up everywhere at the moment (post coming on those tomorrow), and one of my favourites has to be the Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Charm (review here), a shade I picked up in the US but Revlon decided not to release here, boo! It’s the shade that gets me – a gorgeous creamy peach – and it acts pretty well as a balm too.
So very simple, minimal and neutral – you know me. Perhaps I’ll try and show you something a little more adventurous next time, it may even be coming up to that time to crack out that orange lipstick I’ve been mooning on about for so long…
