Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation Launch

Here is a little fact for you, Benefit’s Play Stick foundation was my first ever high-end foundation purchase back when I was 16. Me and my friends used to cake ourselves in this foundation/concealer/powder hybrid and looking back at photos it served us pretty well! But one thing has been missing for a while from the Benefit line – a liquid foundation, and yesterday I attended the launch of Benefit’s newest product – Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation!

The launch was held in the rather swanky private dining area of Rhodes 24 in the vertically opposing Tower 42 in London. The view from the 24th floor was incredible! Bottles of foundation filled the room – which is basically my version of heaven, and Lisa the Head Makeup Artist at Benefit was on hand to match everyone up to their perfect shade. Being a girl who loves her food I always feel the need to comment on the catering and the mini lemon meringues and cupcakes hit the spot, need I say anymore?

Now onto the actual foundation. Benefit’s Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow has been 3 years in the making. Benefit set out to create an everyday, non-greasy, radiance boosting formula and from the sounds of it that’s what you get! They call it a hydrating complex as it helps to boost cellular respiration for a plumping effect and contains vitamins C and E which are known to prevent the signs of aging. It’s an oil-free, lighweight formula with SPF 25 and promotes the appearance of healthy, youthful looking skin. Coverage-wise, Benefit say that this is a light to medium coverage with a natural, slightly dewy finish. And it’s available in nine shades which compliment their popular Hello Flawless Powder line, which they recommend you set the foundation with. Although nine shades isn’t exactly extensive, all the girls I was with at the event managed to find a suitable match and the palest shade actually did look pale for once!

I recieved the shade ‘Cheers to me CHAMPAGNE’, so expect to see a review popping up once I’ve road tested it for a few days. I have to say when Lisa applied it to the model, her skin looked pretty fantastic afterwards, so I’m pretty excited to give it a go. My only worry so far is that nowhere in the marketing garble does it state that it’s a long-lasting foundation which is my absolute top priority! Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation is hitting Benefit counters on 31st March and will cost £24.50. So let the testing commence!

I’ve been looking for a new liquid foundation so I am excited about it – my only complaint is that for £24 the packaging looks a bit cheap… reminds me of the 17 foundations! SPF25 sounds good though.

Playstick was my first high end too! I remember thinking I couldn’t believe I’d spent that much on make up! It all went downhill from there on and my obsession for foundation never waned!! Will buy this when it launches, thanks for the post x

Benefit Playstix in Jax was my first high end foundation purchase too! For my prom – when I was 16 – weird :’)

They did discontinue the shade though :(
This foundation looks really nice, I think ill pop into store to see if they have a colour light enough.

I got a sample of this – I think in the same shade – when I had my brows done at a Benefit counter last week. I’m really excited to try it but I thought the same thing – I want long-lasting!

Excited to see what you think :)

If the world of tinted moisturisers starts to fail me I’ll be heading off to buy this. I would’ve loved to try it regardless but must be saving those pennies. :p

I’m not really into expensive products so the fact I’m even considering this means it must be something special! Can’t wait for the review. :) ))
