A few of you eagle-eyed beauties may have spotted this crop up in the information box of my latest video. I decided the other day after a pretty successful meeting that I needed a treat, so winged my way to the nearest Space NK to indulge in my first ever Chantecaille product. After hearing this brand be spoken about by 2 of my biggest ‘enablers’, namely Tanya and Laura, I finally indulged. The Chantecaille Just Skin Tinted Moisturiser, seemed like their stand-out product, and although I do love my Jemma Kidd Light As Air Foundation (so much I have just repurchased another bottle), some days I do fancy something a little more lighter on the skin and with a dewier finish and this seemed perfect. Ok now for the bad bit, this 50ml bottle put me back £55 (*eek* really hope my Mum never reads this, she would be sick in her mouth), it is almost double the size of normal foundations but there really is no justification for that spend!

I have been testing this out for the past few days and I have to say that it has taken a little bit of getting used to. I’m now pretty acclimatised to the natural, yet medium coverage finish that the Jemma Kidd gives, and the Chantecaille is definitely a step-down from that coverage-wise. It also provides a much dewier finish, although I have been skipping powder completely and embracing the glow. Glow, by the way is the shade that I went for and it’s a nice match for my skin. The Sales Assistant was pushing for me to purchase Alabaster, the lightest shade of them all, but I was having none of it and wanted something that would suit my slightly more tanned skin in the Summer. I’ll hold off on a full review yet, but so far I’m liking it. I can this becoming my choice of base for ‘Au Natural’ days, which have been happening a lot recently! I much favour sleeping on the morning commute rather than troweling it on. Is it worth £55? The jury is still out on that one…

    Eek £55 :O
I’m a big fan of tinted moisturisers n would love to try this if I got it w an offer or somethin!

  • Beth Bradley

Ouch £55 is a lot for a tinted moisturiser! I only really use them when I’m on holiday but I agree that some days you just can’t be bothered to put on the full face!

I think if I was ever to dip my toe into the tinted moisturiser pool it would have to be this one. Thank GOD there isn’t a Space NK in Manchester. I’d be doomed!

Is it worth it…?  For me to say it’s worth it at such a high cost I have to know unequivocally!  If you’re still on the fence after a few uses, at that price I’d say probably not!

  • karola5

I’m jel as my student’s life won’t let me afford it so far + in the entire country there’s no place I can get it ++ online is hard to get , ugh !
    Waiting for more details XO

I noticed the extra glow that you had in your last video and I thought maybe you were wearing the JK dewy glow. I have been so tempted to try this, but haven’t yet. Do you apply it with a kabuki brush a la Laura?

  • Boscy

Would love to try this, but I’d have to have just been in a HUGELY successful meeting to justify the price – hehe. Are you still using your Liz Eare Sheer Skin Tint? I hated it at first but am definitely thinking of giving it another try and would love to know whether you’re still loving it.

PS- You’re my NUMBER ONE enabler! x

Ouch £55?? But, if it’s good enough for the likes of Tanya and Made in Chelsea’s Millie, then it must  be doing something right. Can’t wait to read a full review on it, I reckon it’d be lovely in the summer. Adore the new layout as well Anna.xx

hummm i have to say that being a great fan of tinted moisturizers (I have the Bobbie Brown; Paula’s Choice and Liz Earl’s ones =D) I am VERY curious to read a FULL review and photos of you wearing this one :) Will it justify spending £55 if I already own 3 others (that I love…)? ;) Can’t wait for the jury’s veredict ;)

This is absolutely my favorite tinted moisturizer! I wear the shade Glow as well – a cheaper option is Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Tinted Moisturizer in shade agent 14, which is a tad darker and I wear in the summer.

Ooh I’ve been lusting after this for years – I think it’s partly because the packaging looks so chic:) It sounds like it might be good fit for me, so I’ll have to save up for a while and try it out, thanks for the review!

How pale was the Alabaster shade? I’m an NC 20 in MAC and have wanted this for a long time but I don’t have a store near me. I’m thinking the Alabaster shade is going to be too pale but all of the other shades seem to be too dark.

i really want to try this but i wish i could get a sample, i think its quite a risk for the price… im just a scardy cat lol xx

Why do sales girls always want you to buy the lightest shade? Weird. Well done for being strong! x

What shade and where did you get the Jemma Kidd foundation from?! I cant find the medium light shade anywhere online! What shops stock it? X
