It’s time for all other glow-inducing primers in town to bow down because there’s a new skin perfecting dewy-fier in town, courtesy of Dior’s latest drop and it’s bloomin’ beautiful. It’s named the Dior Glow Maximizer Light Boosting Primer and inside the pump topped tube is held some of the most luminous looking liquid I’ve ever seen. The brief follows similar lines to the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfector, claiming to brighten the complexion and create a radiance-enhanced base for the rest of your makeup menu. And for the most part it does what it says on the tin with the pearl liquid creating a luminous finish that foundations sit beautifully on top of or get mixed in with for an oomph-ed up finish.

Here’s why this one is different. When it says it’s glowy, it means glowy. I don’t think I’ve ever used a formula that makes things so sheeny. An overzealous application one day, paired with my CHANEL Vitalumiere Aqua made things look so bright I had to use a powder. A powder people, that never happens. So the key is to go in light handed with this and apply only where need. But boy is it a beaut and for lacklustre winter days this is the perfect anecdote.

Coming in around £5 cheaper than its direct BECCA competitor – the Dior Glow Maximizer Light Boosting Primer took me back £28 from Selfridges – it’s just an all-round win win. Just prepare for things to get well dewy.

This looks gorgeous on you Anna, you’re right it would be perfect for dull winter skin. Maybe not a good idea for my oily skin during summer x

Your skin looks so beautiful in this photo Anna- even more radiant and flawless than usual. I have been considering the Becca alternative for quite some time now so I think I may need to pick this one up when it graces the Dior counters in Australia! There’s nothing like a bit of Dior ;) lovely post xx

Hmmm, I’m not sure about this as my first thought upon seeing the photo of you was that your skin looks very matte! Very even, but very matte. Have you done something to the photo maybe? It doesn’t show the product well at all.

    You look flawless Anna..

I was looking at buying the becca shimmering skin perfector but realised that it has SPF in it, and am worried it might look white in photos esp that my channel vitalumiere aqua is already spf 15, do you find this to be a problem?!

You wouldn’t happen to know how it compares to Clarins Instant Light radiance boosting base? I’m almost sold on this one based solely on your review, but I’m still on the fence with the upcoming release of the Clarins’.

  • http://teenbeautylover.blogspot.com/ Vicky M

I wish I had a use for primers like this, but I don’t wear foundation nearly enough to justify buying a luxury product to make it look better for the 0.00005% of the time I’m actually wearing it. But then as soon as I see it in a shop and swatch it I’ll succumb. Such is the life of a beauty obsessive.
