I’m not a negative ninny naturally and with VDM being my own little corner of the Internet where I can say whatever the hell I want to I like things to reflect that and keep a positive vibe running through my daily rambles. That being said, I give a fair whack of cosmetics a go and not everything hits the mark perfectly and from time to time it’s only fair to share those that didn’t quite make the cut for the main reason that it may help to save you lot some pennies, non? Just like parents always say – I’m not angry, just disappointed…

Great video. When it comes to beauty products I always rely on the reviews of others before I make a purchase. No need to waste my hard earned money on something that is not going to work, ha ha. Thanks for sharing!

I think people should do more ‘disappointing products’ videos – They’re my favourite videos/posts to watch/read. I think it’s just as important to tell us what you didn’t like as much as what you did :)

Disappointing products videos are always so helpful; it always gives me a little piece of mind, oozing the fact that we don’t need everything. x

It’s not good when you spend money only to be disappointed, but I appreciate you sharing this so we don’t make the mistakes :) xxx

I totally agree – posts like this are SO good because we can avoid wasting our money on products that aren’t worth it! There’s a lot of stuff out there about what we should buy but I think what we should avoid is just as important!

Loved this video, it’s always so helpful to know which products might not be all they’re cracked up to be! I’ve seen the Illamasqua liquid matte lippies myself and wasn’t impressed by them x

Always helpful to hear about not so stellar products- especially when they’re pricey! I tested out the City Swept spray and found the same thing. The Dryspun spray is much better! :)

Just about to watch this Anna! Will be interesting to see what you think of the products, it’s good to hear reviews that aren’t always glowing! x

  • emiller1233

The City Swept and I had the same problem! I just looked like a greaseball, probably the most disgusting thing I’ve ever experienced after showering. Most of the disgust was because I would have to shower again, but you understand.

I just starting blogging, be kind. x

I never normally bother with commenting, liking etc on YouTube or blogs but for you Anna I just have to break that trend. I absolutely love your videos, the variety, the editing, the informative content- you just get it right again and again and again. You have a lovely personality that shines through so obviously through both your written offerings and the videos. The only blog I keep up to date with on a daily basis. I won’t be without my daily fix of VDM!

I actually really like these disappointment videos! I think it’s just as useful to know what not to spend your money on as it is to know what to spend your money on. Thanks for sharing!

I love hearing about things people don’t find all that great. I always find myself jumping on the hype of some items, only to be completely disappointed.

I am so surprised you didn’t like the Phenomanal tan!!!Maybe you should try the foam form , I’ve been using it for a year and it looks super natural and fades away so nicely!!!!

I love me some Tom Ford lipstick but I don’t think I can pay that much for such a sheer lip color.

I agree with your review of the Sun Shimmer! I absolutely love the Light Matte one but the Medium Matte is just too dark. Whenever I come home to the uk I stock up on this in bulk because it’s not always available in Canada. I was going to try the Vita Liberata so maybe I’ll give it a miss now. I usually use the St. Tropez Bronzing Mousse but wanted to try the Xen Tan…..now I just have to find it!!

I got the Phenomenal Tan sample a little while back, but I have no idea how a small sample packet is supposed to be a good test for it if I need to put on two or three applications.
