I admit it. I’m the world’s worst beauty blogger when it actually comes down to wearing makeup. If I’m having a homebody day, not a scrap touches my face (unless it’s for review purposes, in which case I slap it on), and at weekends? Less is more in my mind. The Dr Jart+ Water Fuse BB Cream comes into play on the latter explained occasion. A layer of this topped up with some bronzer, mascara and a slick of lipbalm is me sorted over those two days and after a few months of this routine I couldn’t quite believe that I hadn’t dedicated an ode to it yet on these pages. BB Creams are a bit of a minefield and a marmite product for my tastes, but this ticks all the BB boxes…

Lighter coverage than say Laura Mercier’s Oil-Free Tinted Moisturiser but a touch heavier than the other BB’s I’ve tried. I apply and pea-sized amount to the top of my Real Techniques Buffing Brush and blend away – glowy, glossy skin without the grease. I skip the powder and eight hours later it’s still doing its thing. This is one of four BB formulas from Dr Jart+ and their offering for oily skinned gals which contains a double trouble hit of skincare and coverage; the blueprint for BB’s. Oil-free with SPF, containing Aloe Leaf Juice to prevent moisture loss and anti-redness ingredients – all with a hint of tint. The one shade available does look deceivingly grey when it appears out of the tube but when applied I find it to work on both my paler and tanned up days. If Dr Jart+ could replicate this formula in a range of shades, they’d be on to an absolute stormer. Sort it out guyz.

As of this morning when I wrote this post snuggled up in my rather fetching pyjamas, Dr Jart+ was on offer with a third off at Boots; making a 50ml tube of this just £12. A bargain if I say so myself. I’m tempted to pick up another tube to add to the stock drawer for that price. For I ladies and gents, have found my BB.

Hi Anna, can I ask you something? Could be the camera lens or me being a bit picky but isn’t the BB cream slightly patchy around the eyebrow area in this pic? I’d like to invest in a quality BB cream, but I have weird combination skin (dry t-zone and spotty cheeks – don’t ask.. ), so finding the perfect foundation is tricky, that’s why I want to buy a BB cream. I’ve bought the KIKO one http://www.kikocosmetics.com/eshop/it/product/-/productdetail/bb-cream-spf-15/KM00101013/915489 and I’m doing ok..

    • Guest

yeah, I also think it looks dark and patchy :/
      but the finish seems great!

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

I think that’s more from where I groomed my brows with my brow brush a bit too vigorously and pulled away some of the BB cream! :)

  • Ellie [email protected]

I finally caved and bought this because of the offer.. I’m so glad I did! I’m actually in love with it. It looks so natural and glowy xx

Ah that;s wicked that you love it too! :)

I’ve heard so many good things about this one. And it looks rather lovely on your skin. I’ll be on the hunt for this one as we don’t have Boots stores.

Thanks hun! Hope you manage to find it on your hunt :)

I might actually try this! I’ve not been a great fan of BB creams but you might’ve just convinced me Anna ♥

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

Haha I have to say I wasn’t really a fan of BB’s before either, but this one has made me change my mind :)

  • Nicola

I’m yet to be converted on BB cream. Like you I’d always found them too greasy so might give this one a go!

Totally agree Anna… I wear mine in the exact same way as you – and feel like it’s nourishing my skin rather than just masking it. Tis love!

This is the only face product I use in the summer and it is a life saver! I have extremely oily skin and this gives me a dewy finish without the grease. Great review!

  • Jessica Ringle

I try so hard to like this. I have extremely fair and oily skin; it oxidizes to a crazy orange and I’m an oil slick in less than two hours. I think I just need to give up on the “universal” shade products. Glad it works for you, though! Looks gorgeous on your skin!

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

Ah no – that’s a shame, if they just came out with some more shades of it, it would be perfect! :)

Haha thanks hun!!! Gawd I’m too much of a neutral makeup lover for my own good ;)

  • Emma Stanworth

This might make me take the plunge for a bb cream! The only thing I’m worried about is if it’ll come out too orange-y for us paler girls?

    http://dresswithflare.blogspot.co.uk/

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

I’d say it’s definitely worth testing it out before purchasing if you can. From the comments paler girls have left it doesn’t seem like the best colour match :)

  • http://twitter.com/Lexiaa_ Alex

I don’t understand the BB cream rave, the ones I’ve tried are just glorified tinted moisturisers so I’ll be interested to see how this one works. I really would like to love them, as I don’t like a full coverage base day to day. Thanks for the review.

Heard really good things about that formula – may have to give it a go! :)

the Dr Jart+ Platinum one is amazing! It has a much better coverage than the Water fuse and has a higher SPF for only £2 more. Please do like a ‘lazy day’ tutorial with this :D

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

Brilliant may have to give that one a go too now ;) And yes I’ll see if I can pop up a lazy day tutorial soon :)

  • Danielle Barbeau

This is great for dry-skinned girls too! I have this one and the…platinum…one? I’m not sure. But they’re both beautiful. They are definitely something I reach for on the weekends or when I am just doing errands. I was surprised how well this blended into my pale skin (NW20)!

      Agreed! ;)

  • Ligea77

I purchased the gift set with all four from Sephora and have been rotating. This one is definitely a weekend one due to it’s light coverage, but the others are great if you want something between a foundation and a tinted moisturizer.

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

Brilliant – think I’ll have to pick out some of the other ones from the line to give a go :)

  • Lucia Gáborová

I haven´t tried this one but just got a brand new Bioderma BB cream and it´s just wonderful!

    • http://www.viviannadoesmakeup.com/ Anna

Amazing! Wish we could get Bioderma over in the UK :)

  • http://noxxxxxx.blogspot.co.uk/ sarah

I wish they brought out more shades or i’d be all over this! I’ll stick with my Bobbi Brown BB cream for now. x

  • josie garmory

I just bought this today and I’m really liking it so far. I have really fair skin (I’m pretty much always the lightest foundation shade) but this blended in really well. Maybe its because I have quite yellowy skin though? The coverage is very light on me but I would rather have that and wear more concealer than wear fuller coverage foundation. Thanks for posting about this or I probably would never have tried it! x

  • http://thenonbrit.blogspot.com/ Amelia

This was next on my “To Try” list, after not getting on so well with UD’s Naked Skin BB cream.  Always good to read a positive and glowing review! xx

  • xELISSA

I was given the regenerating one as a gift and thought it would be awful on my oily, pale skin but it’s amazing! I’d like to try the Water Fuse just to see how it compares though x

Dear Anna, can you try the nip+fab CC cream? It just came out :)

  • mariahazoor

Which Dr Jarts BB cream would be best for dry skin, because I’m currently using smashbox camera ready BB cream in light. Its kind of an ok bb cream, not too crazy about it. So what I’m asking is, I’ve heard the black label Dr Jarts BB cream was better than the water infused one. For dry skin what would you recommend?

  • Laurecca Jones

I have my eye one this and I have an olive skin tone, would this be suitable? please help! x
