‘And the award for the cutest named nail polish ever goes to…. Essie Bikini So Teeny!’ Before this turns into an Essie swatch-blog (even though it’s halfway there), I promise this will be the last Essie rave for a while (aside from my Essie Collection video which will be up soon). As if I needed anymore, after all I only have 20 nails to paint at one time, but after seeing this gorgeously eye-catching shade on the nails of Lily and Kate I knew I had to have it.
Now the search for this summer 2012 shade wasn’t easy – three trips to various different Boots and Superdrugs before I found it – it seems the blogger buzz catches on quick these days. A balanced combo of lilac and blue this is unlike any other shade I own. If it reminds me of anything, it’s very similar to the colour Rihanna wore on her nails in the ‘What’s My Name’ video – yes I notice these things, such a makeup nerd. I didn’t realise when I purchased it but Bikini So Teeny contains a very fine amount of silver and pink shimmers, but don’t fret as these barely come out on the nail at all – I can only see them if I hold my hand up in direct sunlight and at a very specific angle. No worries. Think of it as a cream finish with a hint of shimmer and not a frosty finish. In terms of application, two coats and you’re done. God damn, I love the new Essie diffusion line brushes.
This is part of the limited edition summer 2012 line so it won’t be around forever, but it’s definitely worth traipsing around to scout it out. You can pick it up for £7.99 at Boots or Superdrug or a load of places online. Does Bikini So Teeny float your boat?
