Given that’s just turned New Year with resolutions rifle and promises of ‘must do X this year’ in mind, Lily Pebbles and I hatched a plan. A ‘Guide to Blogging and Vlogging’ series, tailored to those of you with plans to start a Blog or YouTube channel in 2014 with some more advanced tips thrown in there that may come in handy for those who’ve already begun. Here’s the deal. Six videos in total, three on each of our channels covering three topics: how to start, equipment and general tips and tricks and a video focusing on blogging and vlogging for each. Simples. So today we’re kicking things off on VDM with the basics of YouTube. We discuss topics to ponder before you start, how to set-up your channel and the wonderfully hilarious phenomenon of YouTube-picked thumbnails. For the same deats on blogging check out our video on Lily’s channel. Let the ‘Guide to Blogging and Vlogging’ commence – next stop tech-tips, cameras and our filming set-ups that used to include cereal boxes. Coming Sunday.

This is so perfect, I’ve recently started a blog its probably about 2 weeks old now.
And Im desperate to start a youtube channel also as I think they compliment eachother so well.
But I am waiting to see if I get any following on my blog before investing in a camera for youtube videos!
Its fantastic to see established bloggers/vloggers going that extra mile for people just starting out.

This is fantastic! Been blogging for a while but have recently changed focus (from personal to lifestyle related) and was also considering trying out vlogging (which, whowever, terrifies me to no end :P). Tips and tricks from seasoned blo(vlo)ggers would be highly appreciated!

I love this little series that you’re doing! The blog tips are so useful for me as I started my blog in September so I’m still fairly new to it all. I wish I had the courage to start a YouTube channel though.. I’ve been wanting to do it since last Summer and I just can’t bring myself to make one. It’s a scary decision for someone like me who isn’t the most confident haha. Hopefully some day I will make videos though & these tips will come in very handy. Thanks for doing it ladies!

You girls are LIFE SAVORS! Thank you so much for doing this. I’ve had my blog for about 5 months now and a few videos on YouTube, but I’ve been struggling with keeping up with my own blogposts, and afraid to publish my videos. This is an instant boost! Thank you for taking your time! Can’t wait to see the rest :)

i hope the blog part is like how to start a professional blog- like with a domain and all. not just blogspot.com or wordpress.com- maybe a tutorial or easy steps on how to use word press and what blog engine you use Anna? you’re host is different from lily’s. x

I’m still a ‘beginner blogger’ and when writing becomes impossible to share what I truly mean, I look to Youtube for some help explaining it in more detail… Hopefully that made sense haha
