That lot at Illamasqua aren’t a shy bunch are they! ‘Naked Strangers’ is the risqué title of their new collection and with more bare flesh toned products and rich licks of gold to make you hot under the collar, they’ve got Summer sultry down to a tee.
More known for their outlandish and bold colour palette, Illamasqua have bought it back down to basics with their Summer collection and indulged in a mix of beautiful naked tones with a metallic edge. I road tested this little trio today, took a few snaps and I have to say I was rather impressed. For nails I’m not really a shimmer girl, but their Nail Polish in Swinger* is a nice addition to my metallic free nail polish collection. A glistening platinum gold, I think I’ll be using it as a pedicure colour from now on and I was super impressed that only one coat of this was needed. When it comes to blushes, I’m more into my coral tones, but the newly released Powder Blusher in Naked Rose* added a healthy flush to my cheeks. This neutral beige brown shade got me thinking about the Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed which is something I’ve wanted to try for ages, not sure if the two are similar but it may have bumped that off my wishlist! Finally my favourite thing from the collection is the Sheer Lipgloss in Intimacy*. Continuing on with the pinky brown theme this gives the lips a nuded appearance with a hint of baby pink. Although I’m not too keen on the brush applicator, it’s not too sheer in my opinion and also not too sticky on the lips – I think this could be the perfect accompaniment to MAC’s Hue Lipstick.
The collection launched online at Illamasqua.com yesterday for registered members and will release nationwide and globally from May 31st. I have to say this may be my favourite collection of theirs so far, nude pinky browns with a hint of shimmer and cheeky names , I like. I’ll give it to you Illasmasqua this time you really hit the spot! Ooh la la!
P.S) And no I’m not naked in the picture, although that would have gone nicely with the theme. I just cracked out the boob tube that I was contemplating in yesterdays post
