New Bag, New Boots | Vivianna Does Makeup

Today is the day when I finally get round to showing you what fashion bits I got for my birthday! It’s always nice to build a bit of suspense isn’t it? I am absolutely bursting with excitement over the two pieces that I brought and I have to say that that hasn’t happened over fashion or accessories in awhile, that level of squealing and waving my hands in the air is only usually reserved for makeup. Every now again people do ask to see a few more ‘style’ posts on the blog or videos on Youtube, but I have always shyed away, 1) Because I really don’t think of myself as having an amazing dress sense (for someone who has check out Nicola Claire) and 2) I find OOTD’s really awkward to take photos for, just haven’t ever gotten into the swing of it I guess you could say. However with my makeup drawers bulging and my time as a student over, meaning that it is no longer acceptable to go shopping in your pyjamas I think it is time for me to get back into fashion, heck I have even started to consider getting some ‘investment pieces’

Times are changing people! So without further ado let’s bring on the purchases.

When I first saw this bag in Zara, I instantly fell in love. It was one of those ‘look at price tag, shudder, put it back on the shelf, but can’t stop thinking about it’ moments. I’ve always been a fan of big bags, and have been looking for one that is big enough to fit my laptop in, and this one certainly is big enough to accommodate my incessant need to overpack. Black leather panels the front and back of the bag, with black suede strips down the side, complimented with gold detailing and a combination of shoulder and elbow handles I think this could be my all time favourite bag EVER! I love how it looks slightly slouchy but sleek and sophisticated at the same time. I think I could gush on about it for another 1000 words but I will stop there…

The final item on my shopping list was a pair of winter boots. My old boots from Primark had holes in the bottom, which made rainy days a bit grim – so I was on the hunt for something sturdy, that would go with anything jeans, legging, skirts, dresses – the whole shebang, with a slight heel suitable for everyday. After trying on about 30 pairs, I ended up with the above!

I wore these to work on Thursday, and by god they are painful! Plasters are now a new addition to my handbag, but the pain is so worth it as they are lush! The heel is a good size, not too high, not too low, they will go with anything and I kind of like how they look a bit bashed up already. I am determined to wear them in as I really want them to be my ‘daily shoe’ for the winter time! I don’t know what it is about them but when I wore them they made me feel kinda stylish and sophisticated, which is something that I haven’t felt in a long time cause I’m usually dressed uber casual! I tried to find a link for you guys online but they only had the green and red colours in stock, but if you fancy trying a pair on have a look in store cause they had loads left in my local one.

And I have a feeling that these type posts will be occurring more frequently on the blog as I feel my love for fashion coming back. Now let’s face it this blog is never going to be called ‘Vivianna Does Makeup….. And Fashion’, makeup will always be my true love – but it does feel nice to mix it up a bit!

The bag is perfect, I really want a bag that fits my macbook in, I think laptop carry cases are so awful and manly. This bag is just perfect for that so I may have to find one myself!
