I’m not too much of a stickler when it comes to wearing certain scents at particular times of the day or year – I’m a perfume maverick in that sense. Thierry Mugler Alien gets thrown on in the heat and a light dash of Elie Saab can make an appearance in the depths of the winter. However there are a few summer spritzes that I’ve been reaching for this season and coincidently there’s an offering for the floral, sweet and citrus lovers alike…

Stella by Stella McCartney seems to make an appearance in everyone’s summer fragrance picks, so excuse me while I jump on the bandwagon. A mix of light and fresh floral notes this is a nice pick for when you fancy an über subtle scent. It’s housed in a dinky lil’ bottle too which is why it’s the one that always gets thrown in my bag when I’m travelling. Something sweeter, girlier and a little bit more punchy is Miss Dior Chérie, which is forever etched in my mind along with the story of me asking for it for Christmas and then seeing that my boyfriend had googled ‘Misty or Cherry Perfume’ on my computer. Never fails to make me giggle. I can never remember the specific notes of perfumes, but I do remember that this has a heart of popcorn and strawberries and I think that sums up this scent very well. Although it does make you want to eat it slightly. Finally my one and only Jo Malone scent slots into the final place of the line-up, Nectarine Blossom and Honey. This would hit the right spots for both citrusy and sweets fans, with equal doses of fruity nectarine and sugary honey notes. There is something about the Jo Malone branding that I adore, the bottle, the stores, the typeface. I know, I know – nerd alert! So if anyone has any recommendations, then speak up.

So what did I spray on this morning? Today was a Misty or Cherry kind of day…
