Ok, so I’m cheating a bit here. Of course there are days when I happily wander around without a scrap of makeup on my face – those are real no makeup days. But for no makeup, makeup days there’s just one product that I like to employ. The key to keeping things barely-there, but just polished enough – NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla.

I can forgo the batch of brow products, anything fancy on the lips aside from lip balm, even a lick of mascara (though I do always quick them a quick curl), but bags and blemishes? Oh no, I like to brush and blend them bye bye. That’s where the Radiant Creamy Concealer comes in. Light enough in texture that it does the job on my dark circles without leaving a trace of its existence behind, but heavy enough to cover red bumps and lumps – I usually stroke some onto my cheeks too, to cover up any redness that has reared its angry head. I apply then blend in with fingers to melt the makeup in. Easy peasy. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, this concealer is perfect. But I’m intrigued to know – do you agree? Or do you have another no makeup, makeup weapon up your sleeve?

This concealer is really good but wherever I put it (bar under my eyes) I get a blemish the next day! So unfortunately I just have to avoid using it.

  • http://brushandbullet.com Teresa @ BrushAndBullet.com

Concealer is key! But for no-makeup-makeup I also like Mac’s MSFN — looks totally natural, especially if you spray to set it.

  • Amanda

Ah I want to try this so badly! Seems like my perfect concealer.

Why is everybody and their cats raving about this concealer? I want it so bad!

  • Jayne Larsen-Edgar

This concealer is out of stock everywhere. It’s so annoying. It’s the only one which works for me.

  • xmookzx .

You look incredible for a no make up make up day! Maybe it’s also a good concealer because you’re naturally beautiful anyway! :) Meg x gleeproject.blogspot.co.uk

This concealer is my go-to product too (in chantilly)… either that or the By Terry Touche Veloutee. Both purchased on your recommendation, I might add :)

  • Sheryll Renata

this is hands down my favorite concealer. Applied under my eyes in the morning, I look like I got 10 hours of sleep, instead of a measly 6. It’s the best!

  • Christina Gomes

Same here, even of no makeup days I have to wear concealer! :D

  • circafashion

Love it too. But they don’t make a good color for me for under eyes. Great for my blemishes. Also do a light dusting of chanel les beiges powder

  • Siobhan

I so wanted to love this concealer, but i find it a bit difficult to blend, and it tends to make my undereyes look a bit grey. Also it doesnt play well with a lot of other products, such as a bit of eye brightener on top you have to be very careful with. And if you get any on your eye lids you can say goodbye to a nice eyeshadow application. I’m still trying to make it work for me though!

  • Lindsay

I want to love this, but it makes me breakout horribly. My favorite concealer is Cle de Peau, but at $70 USD a pop, I’m trying my best to find a substitute. RMS “Un” cover-up is next up on my list to try.

  • Marianne

I bought this concealer on your recommendation and have to agree. The coverage is great. Thanks Vivianna!

I think concealer is the perfect “no makeup” makeup weapon (is weapon too violent of a word haha?) anyways, I always swipe on a quick coat of mascara though as I’m blonde and it just helps make me look awake and fresh. I’m so excited though because I should be getting the NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer very soon!

bareMinerals SPF 15 foundation. It’s like a creamy powder and it cancels out redness on my face perfectly. It definitely looks like I am wearing no make up and it certainly feels like I’m wearing no make up! Highly recommend it

I don’t know about using it alone, but I’m going to give it a try, because i just got this a week ago and it’s AMAZING. I just thought it was an overhyped concealer but I was SO wrong. Everyone, get this, Great coverage, (can use this without a corrector on my undereyes!), doesn’t cake at all, just amazing.

This looks lovely on you; your skin is gorgeous! I don’t really have any no-makeup days, I tend to either wear it, or I don’t. Sometimes in the summer I just opt for a tad of BB cream, but during winter months, I can’t go without foundation.

  • facemadeup1

Totally agree with you on this. It’s a liquid formula but creamy enough to provide a good coverage. Not as thick as the Collection Lasting Perfection. And comes in so many shades unlike the drugstore ones.

  • lavender638

Have you tried Tarte’s Maracuja Creaseless Concealer? It’s so creamy and moisturizing, plus I love the squeeze tube packaging. I think I like it better than the Nars.

  • Bianka

I totally agree! Altough I’ve always had these fine lines that EVERYTHING seems to creep into, this is the closest I’ve come to being dark-circle free!

You look so nice without makeup! I heard so many good things about this concealer, but had no chance to tes it yet. I keep my eye on Nyx hd concealer because a lot of girls are recommending it and is super cheap!

this is the best concealer ever. hands down….love it.

  • Katie Marie

I really love this concealer. It covers under eye darkness and blemishes beautifully. Tjis is my go to concealer for sure

  • wldflwr78

I don’t know if you read all your of these responses or not, but I had to say thank you! About a year ago I bought a drugstore eyelash curler that got good ratings on Temptalia. I just couldn’t work it well with my small eyes. (I don’t have a crease socket to mention and my eyes always got pinched). I put it in a drawer and brought it back out a month ago. I got better at it so I got brave enough to fork out cash for the japonesque ones you mentioned. Oh my!!!! With the same mascara my lashes look like never before… Open, fluttery, and fantastic. Thanks for the review!!!!!

  • Tanya Werger

I love this concealer for under the eyes but I haven’t found the right shade to use it for blemishes… :(

I would never bother with foundation if I looked like that without it! Was looking at the NARS in Space NK this week, couldn’t decide which of the two lightest shades would suit me so gave up! I will try it at some point… x

  • Sophie
  • Valentina

I totally agree with you… I bought it recently and love it…one of the best concealer ever… I had a break out though… but I can’t say for sure it was because I used this product…maybe it was just hormonal… I also love the Collection concealer. Maybe a bit more drying, but n° 1 perfect colour match for my pale complexion.

  • Valentina

btw…best thing about NARS, finally it’s sold in Sephora in Italy…so everytime I hear one of you bloggers saying, something from their range is amazin’ but limited edition, difficult to find…etc… I know that in a month time or so… it will be very easy to find here where I live in Italy. For example it was easy for me to find the shade Vanilla.

  • Federica B

I like the Nars concealer, but if I want a no make up make up look I rely on the MUFE full cover concealer! it’s great!!

    http://allthatfascination.blogspot.it/

  • Fabiana

I still don’t know how I feel about this concealer, it just a tad to dry for my under eye (even though I have oily skin) but it doesn’t cling to my fine lines. For no makeup days just some mineral powder, laura mercier secret camouflage and I am good.

  • Abbie Winton

…But have they stopped the shade Vanilla?? It was out of stock for ages and ages and now seems to have disappeared altogether online… :(

    • koren roberts

I just went into space nk and they colour matched me for vanilla and the make up artist was a NARS make up artist and he seemed genuinely surprised that it wasn’t in stock, I am sure I heard her mumble something about the end of march. You can still test it on counters so I would assume they have not discontinued it.

I love Nars but have yet to try their concealer. Thanks for this!

The Estee Lauder Maximum Cover foundation works as an amazing concealer (I use Creamy Vanilla, although the shade range is quite odd!) Dab a little on those spots and dark circles and done! Plus you get a huge amount which will last a very long time, if you use it for concealing only! And it’s not cakey at all! For you ladies that would like an alternative to the NARS creamy concealer (which I personally love myself!)

  • Rachel

Agreed, this concealer is incredible. I love it so much, I already picked it up in two shades!

  • Allira Taylor

This is the best concealer for both darkness and nasty redness. And a little goes a long way!

Always on the hunt for my HG concealer I ordered this two days ago from Sephora so I am anxious to see. My biggest issue tho is my raccoon eyes smearing under eyes from mascara and liner tho I have tries countless combos of liners mascaras concealers powder even. However I never needed a bit of concealer until I hit 35 so I’m double bummed! Thx for great post tho!
