I had seen visuals of this palette doing the rounds on the Internet well before it’s release date and I’m pretty sure I swooned out loud. The Clarins Colour Accent Face & Blush Powder* is foder for the eyes of blusher and bronzer lovers alike. After gracing my cheeks (and generally my whole face) most days since it arrived, here’s my thoughs on what could very easily coin the term ‘the prettiest palette ever’…
Consisting of 3 nude hues with strips of pale pink blush running through, the palette is designed to be dusted all over the face to brighten and illuminate. I’ve found this to work best for me if I concentrate my brush in the corners to pick up more of the pink shades then apply that to my cheeks as a blush, before running my brush down the centre focusing on the bronzey shades to throw on all over my face. A 2-in-1 product? I like. In terms of it’s illuminating claims I’ve found it to be on the more matte side of proceedings. Held up in direct sunlight it appears to have the finest of shimmers I’ve ever seen pressed through it, but this isn’t something that transfers onto the skin. Instead you’re left with a long-lasting, heathly flush to the skin.
The Clarins Colour Accents Face & Blush Powder is available on counters now and will set you back a cool £30. Do you need it? No. Do you want it? Yes. I have to say I’m growing more and more fond of Clarins with each seasonal collection they release. Although nothing graps me too much from their regular line (aside from their tanning products and lipglosses), their limited edition offerings always get a thumbs up. My Mum has even chipped in to say that they are her favourite makeup brand. Hmmm, I think I’ll have to keep this one hidden away…
