Online shopping. Such a glorious, yet dangerous invention. I like to think of it as the reason why my postman and I are practically bezzie mates. Buying beauty bits online isn’t always easy and I’m not sure anything will ever beat the buzz of a good ol’ beauty hall in the flesh, but there are a few corners of the web that I like to peruse for my next beauty fix that I thought I’d share today. Note: it may be a good idea to hide your card now…
Cult Beauty – the place to get off the beaten beauty track bits. For a handpicked edit of the best of beauty that otherwise can be a little hard to source this is where to go. A perusal of the ‘What’s New’ page always ends with a new product (or three) being added to my shopping list and the CB team win extra points for dishing out sneaky discount codes in your parcels leading to a very viscous purchasing cycle.
FeelUnique – where to find your HG bits at a bargain price point. This is one of the first places I check when an item enters my wishlist as things always seem to be a little bit cheaper on here and with the free delivery option you’re winning. A special note goes to the Xen-Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe (a.k.a my favourite faux tanner ever), as it’s a full £10 cheaper on here than its usual price. Worth checking out on social media too as they tend to wave the odd discount code around.
What to add to your basket: Emma Hardie Amazing Face Lift and Sculpt Moringa Cleansing Balm, Xen-Tan Dark Lotion Absolute Luxe, Redken All Soft Range, Philip Kingsley Elasticizer, Dr LeWinn’s Renunail Strengthener.
Escentual – for French pharmacy finds. Escentual found a gap in the market and went with it and for that I am grateful. It’s the online haven to source your skincare bits from across the channel without having to even leave your bedroom. The list isn’t completely comprehensive but it’s not bad with Bioderma, Avene, La Roche Posay, Clarins and Dior (the last two of which always seem to be a lot cheaper here than anywhere else) all available to be dropped into your basket.
What to add to your basket: Bioderma Sensibio Micelle Solution, Bioderma Photoderm AKN Mat Mattifying Fluid SPF 30, Clarins Liquid Bronze Self Tanning, Clarins Instant Eye Makeup Remover, Dior Diorskin Nude BB Cream.
Being Content – a slice of natural beauty. If Cult Beauty and Whole Foods had an online beauty boutique baby, this is what it would look like. Organic, natural, vegan, cruelty-free – you name a beauty eco-concern and this place will have something up their sleeve for you. I’m a particularly big fan of the next day delivery option (naughty I know, but some sites don’t offer that option for us impulse buyers) and there tends to be a discount included with the delivery of your order. Sweet.
Selfridges - the place to peruse when you want a bit of everything. Now for people residing by a Selfridges or general city dwellers this suggestion isn’t for you, but for out-of-towners whose journey to a Selfridges would be a bit of a trek then listen up. They offer a full roster of brands and have a fair few exclusives. Delivery can be a bit steep though, so wait if you can till your shopping list is booming to get your moneys worth.
Time to fill up those virtual baskets….. and then promptly ‘x’ out of the tab – online window shopping is the way to go. Sometimes.
